The idea of creating the ‘SEA IS MY LIFE’ website was born in 2005 after talking to so many seamen who tried to capture on film the seafaring life, panoramic views, and different cities in the most remote corners of the world.
Despite the existence of digital photography which in many respects made creation and storing of photographs a much easier task, the seamen who have these magic cameras and are capable of conveying the beauty and unusualness of their journeys are very few. That’s why the main idea behind this website is to come together and show all aspects of the seafaring life to our friends and close ones.
In the essence, a photo site is an international thing. Let’s talk to each other in the language of photographs which everybody understands! Any user of this website, regardless of language and nationality, thus giving the whole world a part of himself. Follow us on Facebook, add photos, notice of friends, meet with old friends.
The ‘SEAMEN’S CLUB’ section is, in a way, a social club and a meeting place for old friends in our group "SEAISMYLIFE.COM". Socialize, meet, exchange e-mails – this is your website. Every new page means new faces, new life, and new world.
I am confident that by visiting the ‘SEA IS MY LIFE’, many of you will discover for yourself something new about the seaman’s world and will find many interesting photo works. These works are about the world surrounding us – ships, harbors, port cities, and also strikingly majestic sea, the sky with its clouds in an unpredictable movement of life, a rising sun and flaring sunsets. It is impossible to imagine that we sometimes fail to notice all this beauty, busy with our routine affairs.
Our website does not purport to be exclusive or professional. Friends, share your photos, show the world the way it really is, give us your best recollections – let the rest of the world learn about you, you deserve it!
We are just small grains of sand in a vast stormy ocean, but together we create whole islands and whole continents. We are a planet called the ‘Sea World’, and sea is our life. I am sure that every one of us can proudly say: ‘Sea is my life’.
